General Questions:

What is Industrial-lyrics.com?     .:top:.

Industrial-lyrics.com is a site dedicated to the promotion of industrial music and the bands that make it. We house a database of over 10,00 songs and 350 bands, including links to band sites, Myspace profiles, pictures and biographies, and album information.

When did this site start?     .:top:.

This site was launched on February 8, 2004.

Who's runs this site?     .:top:.

This site is a division of Industrial Inc. The staff for this division includes Poet (director, designer, programmer, PR director, lyrical aquisition) and Drachenfrau (proof reader, translator, special projects).

What are the Working and Wanted pages?     .:top:.

The Working page lists bands that are in queue to be added or are actively persued. The Wanted page lists bands and songs that we are particularly interested in finding lyrics for.

Who designed and coded this site?     .:top:.

Poet is the lead designer and programmer for Industrial Inc. In the past there was collaboration with two outside designers/programmers, Shade and Ravena, but there is currently no code written by them on the site.

Do you have any banners for linking?     .:top:.

Yes, please reffer to the "Stuff" page for those.

What are those "Buy This Album" links?     .:top:.

If you were to click on the link, you will be taken (in most cases) to the record label's website to purchase the album. Sometimes it can be hard to find a CD, so this is an effort to help out the users, the bands, and the labels. We are not being paid to do this (no money, no free CDs, ect). We thought it would be something nice for everyone.

Lyrics Questions:

Why do you edit lyrics?     .:top:.

There are a couple of reasons for this. We believe that proper capitalization and structure makes the songs easier to read. We come across a lot of lyrics that are clumped together in a mangeled mess which makes them hard to follow. We also feel it's a waste of space to repeat lines multiple times, so we generally isolate that one line to denote that it is repeated.

Who owns these pictures, biographies, and songs?     .:top:.

Pictures and lyrics belong to their respective owners, generally the bands.

The lyrics I'm reading and the one's I'm hearing aren't the same, why?     .:top:.

It could very possibly be that the lyrics have a mistake in them, though more offten then not, the band will adlib when recording a song, and the differences never make it into the lyrics in the booklet, or the band made a mistake when they submitted the lyrics for printing. In cases where there are full verses missing, we try to contact the band to verify what we believe the missing verse to be.

I sent you lyrics, but they aren't up yet, why not?     .:top:.

A couple reasons this could be. If you don't get an e-mail thanking you for sending them, then they haven't been processed yet. A reply is usually sent within one week of receiving lyrics. It could also be that we do not consider the band you submitted to be industrial. Our general rule to determine if they are part of the genre is if they are played on industrial radio stations or in clubs, then they're industrial. Another reason could be because there aren't enough lyrics in the queue for an update. Most updates are 75 or more songs.

How do I submit lyrics to you?     .:top:.

Very simple. Just send an e-mail with the lyrics (either in the body of the e-mail or attatched). industrialyrics |at| yahoo.com . Please follow the guidelines on the "Contact" page.

How do I get my lyrics on this site?     .:top:.

Please send your lyrics, band name, and any other information you wish to have on the website. Please follow the guidelines of capitalizing the first letter of each line, capitalizing the I's, and no periods or commas on the end of each line.

How do I get my lyrics removed from this site?     .:top:.

Please send and e-mail, from an identifiable source (band website preferably), along with your name. It may take one or two days for us to verify that you are who you say you are.

There's an error in a song or title. What do I do?     .:top:.

If you find an error, please double check it. If it truely is incorrect please send an e-mail to industrialyrics |at| yahoo.com describing it.

Why do you have random quotes?     .:top:.

There is at least one quote for every band in the database. You can click on the band's name to go to the band's listing in the database, and you can click on the song name to view the whole song. The idea is to interest in bands that you might not have heard before.

Do you take quote suggestions?     .:top:.

I do, but please, try not to pick quotes with swear words. We aren't really keen on having them as the first thing you see when you visit the site.

What do you use to manage the site?     .:top:.

Until very recently, we used stand alone programs that prepared and then inserted songs into the database. These programs were written in C++ and VB .NET, but we have since moved to web-based applications to perform these tasks. More information about these programs can be found on the "Stuff" page.
